Eggs are one of the most common ingredients used in cooking. They are incredibly versatile and can serve as the main component of a dish, such as in a simple sunny-side-up egg with bacon and sausage as side items. Eggs can also be added on top of other dishes to provide creaminess, richness, or a subtle protein flavor.
Cooking eggs well can be challenging, as the temperature must be perfectly controlled to prevent overcooking or undercooking. One of the most difficult egg dishes to prepare is the soft-boiled egg, often enjoyed as part of a Southeast Asian breakfast, where both the egg white and yolk are in a semi-solid form.
Below are some of the best egg dishes I've tried. I believe that without the egg, these dishes would have felt incomplete.
